If you’re on a budget, the best time to visit Big Bear lake is early Fall, September or October, right before winter (when prices start surging). October is relatively dry and temperatures are mild, in the low 70s. If you want to stay there during the winter (the most popular and expensive season) try avoiding Christmas and New Years weeks. These are the most expensive times to visit Big bear lake, accommodations are 3 times more expensive than average.
Summers are also a great time to visit, relatively cheap, quiet, warm (low 80s) and dry. It’s a great time for a relaxing sunny week-end get-away if don’t live too far away.
